Who am I? How did I get here?

In graduate school, I remember hearing about the “crazy ideas” of a new, bogus field of research called epigenetics. Students and faculty would come back from molecular biology meetings nonplussed by the fact that these “nut jobs” were garnering federal funding for their research. This particular variety of nut job was never invited to give departmental seminars, nor were their publications selected reading courses. As a result, buried in my own obligations, I never heard any more about them.

Thirteen years and thousands of miles later; far from the hallowed halls of the university, I was once again introduced to the concept of epigenetics. A friend of mine, fellow Psych-K facilitator Tashina Beckman, told me about Psych-K and suggested I read The Biology of Belief by Dr. Bruce Lipton. Within four weeks, I had devoured all of his books (The Biology of Belief, The Honeymoon Effect, The Wisdom of your Cells, and Spontaneous Evolution), experienced a Psych-K balance for myself, and registered for the Psych-K basic workshop.

I know, it sounds like I closed my eyes and drank the Kool-Aid. I admit, I did. But, I did it with a skeptic’s brain and my eyes and ears wide open. It was the second best decision I’ve ever made.

My jump to embracing this “new age woo-woo philosophy” was not entirely unprecedented. Despite my hard-science background, I was always curious about “alternative” concepts (yoga, Reiki, Ayurveda, essential oils, etc…). I tried many, and while I did see benefits, I was never able to fully embrace any of them. As a scientist, how could I? Despite thousands of years of anecdotal evidence, there was no data to support what I was feeling, experiencing and being told.

In Dr. Bruce Lipton’s research and Psych-K, I finally found evidence-based, straightforward, repeatable, scientific explanations for my life experiences AND the simple tools I needed to overcome my challenges, leave the past in the past, and improve my relationships. Less than one year after first hearing the word “Psych-K,”, I had completed not just the Basic workshop, but the Advanced and Pro workshops as well, totally changed my ability to handle life’s challenges, and discovered the ability to lead a productive, fun, busy life without stress.

I am here to help you do the same. As a person, I am gentle, but straightforward, caring, kind and compassionate. I am passionate about good communication, healthy relationships, professional development, and helping people get motivated to take charge of their lives by applying their knowledge and implementing their training.
