Functional Movement Screening TM

What is Functional Movement Screening?

Weaknesses or abnormalities in fundamental movement patterns leave us more prone to suffering injuries both from strenuous activities and simple daily movements.

Functional Movement Screening (FMSTM) is a system that uses a set of 7 movement tests to asses fundamental movement patterns and assign targeted corrective exercises based on each individual’s score.

Regardless of your current activity/fitness level, FMSTM will identify movements that you can improve.

After your screening, you will receive a set exercises based upon your individual screening score to help you be more mobile, more durable, and more resistant to injury.

When you come for your screening, please:

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, and
  • Bring a pair of gym shoes that you do not wear outside.
(If you do not have a pair of dedicated gym sneakers, don’t worry. Just wash & dry the bottoms of your athletic shoes, making sure to get any dirt, grass, gravel, salt, snow, etc… out of the traction creases and bring them with you.)
